About Me

Dmitry Yakubov is a seasoned videographer, creating hundreds of videos for weddings, events and custom projects. His videography services are built on three decades of experience.

A graduate of St. Petersburg State Academy of Culture with a Masters Degree in Theater Direction, he was a theater director in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in the 1990s.  His distinguished work includes his work on “Nevsky Prospect,” an historical TV documentary about the famous Saint Petersburg avenue.

After moving to Chicago in 2002, he published the magazine Information Window as well as several books on culture and history, worked as a graphic designer and videographer, the talent that became his full-time career in 2010.

In addition to his own video work, Dmitriy is the exclusive videographer of Maxwell Street Klezmer Band, Eivan’s Photo and Video, George Street Photo & Video, and others. 

In 2021, he co-produced the documentary “Anderson’s Mission,” which drew acclaim at film festivals in Moscow and New York. For the last six years, Dmitriy has videoed over fifty weddings per year, offering his experience and skills to capture special events for clients.
